December will see a fully Functional AIIMS Patna

New Delhi, March 31: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences,(AIIMS), Patna will be fully functional by December this year, the parliament was told on Friday.


"Due to some legal issues in recruitment, the project was delayed. We have settled these issues. Now the recruitment process is underway and it will be completed by November.


"It (the AIIMS) will be fully functional by December," informed Health Minister J.P. Nadda. He also spoke of not having been provide with land for a second AIIMS by the state yet.


Shailesh Kumat, RJD member has inquired from the minister about the possibility of a second AIIMS being established at Bhagalpur.


Nadda elaborating on establishment of AIIMS across all states in the country said that the setting up of these facilities would be done in a phased manner. He spoke of Kerala and Telangana, as prospective states for the AIIMS venture.


"As far as AIIMS is concerned, the government,the Health Department is committed for opening AIIMS in every state and we are going in a phased manner. Certainly, Kerala and Telangana are also under consideration," he said,
