Couple arrested for fooling MBBS aspirant of Rs. 15 lakh

Kurnool: A couple that fooled a medical aspirant of Rs. 15 lakh, on the promise of helping him procure a medical seat, was presented before the press on Thursday, in the presence of Adoni, DSP, YBPTA Prasad.


The DSP in his media address revealed that Aravind, a resident of Mantralayam, had lodged a complaint against Ramana Rao alias Venkataramana and his wife Nirmala alias Nirmala Kannan, residents of Nellore, for collecting the sum stated above on the promise of a medial seat to his son.


On receiving the amount, Venkataramana, the accused broke all telephonic contact with Arvind and did not help him procure the promised admission in a medical college. He instead, made it clear to Aravind that money taken would not be returned.


Aravind on losing all hope approached the District SP and lodged a complaint. On the SP’s directive, a team led by Mantralayam, Circle Inspector, D Ramu arrested the couple in Nellore.


According to the DSP, the duo besides cheating Aravind, had also fooled several others on the promise of medical and engineering seats under the NRI quota. The accused are to be produced in the court for further action, the DSP stated, reports Hans India.
