Conduct NEET in Regional Languages: Anandiben Patel

New Delhi : Gujarat Chief Minister, Anandiben Patel, while addressing the 11^th meeting of the Inter State Council on Saturday, appealed to the centre to conduct NEET Examinations in regional languages and provide more coastal police stations to Gujarat, due to its proximity to Pakistan.

Ms. Patel also expressed her government's complete agreement with the recommendations made by Justice MM Punchi Commission formed to look into centre state relations, keeping in view, the changes in the polity and economy of the country. She also appealed to the centre for financial assistance to set up a forensic laboratory.

Ms. Patel urged the government at the centre to take into consideration state views and promote cooperative federalism.

She informed the gathering that Gujarat had enrolled 91.26% of adult population of the state under the Adhaar scheme. To cover the rest 560 permanent enrolment centres were being set up, she added.

"We have also constituted a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Cell in the Finance Department to oversee both, Aadhaar seeding and also the flow of financial benefits to the beneficiaries' accounts through DBT," she revealed.
