Ludhiana: Despite several warnings from the Municipal Corporation, the Christian Medical College and Hospital has failed to clear its pending dues to the civic body. Thursday, saw the Corporation issue its final notice to the CMCH authorities for its 12 major properties.

The college had asked for a month’s time for assessment of land and calculation of pending taxation. However, two months have now elapsed and the college has yet to cough up the sum due to the corporation.

TOI reports that the Municipal Corporation had served 16 notices to the medical college in September.

The Municipal Corporation clarifies that they had told the medical college authorities that if they failed to clear their dues this time, the civic body would assess the taxes at their own level.

Superintendent, MC, Vivek Verma said enough time has been given to the defaulters. However, they have failed to make their payment.

"Now when the defaulters have the chance to clear their dues under one-time settlement policy of the state government even then they are not making use of the situation," he told the TOI.
