Chandigarh: Security guards disallowed mobiles on duty

Chandigarh: Security guards manning posts at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector32 have been asked to refrain from carrying mobile phones on their person during duty hours by the college higher ups. The order about this was also issued to Punj Securities Services, the suppliers of the manpower.

The order issued in this regard by Dr Rajeev Sharma, Chairman, Security Committee, and Professor, Professormentioned: "The guards are found using the phones during duty timings." It was written to the managing director of the security services that the guards should be directed to keep their mobile phones in their vehicle or deposit them in the security control room. "In case of any emergency, the phone number of area supervisor may be given so that the guard can be informed. If they are found using the phones during duty hours, disciplinary action will be taken against them," reports TOI.
