Chandigarh: GMCH 32 now working towards gaining permanent status for its 100 seats
Chandigarh: It is a feather in the cap of Government Medical College Hospital, Sector 32 (GMCH32), for having successfully retained its seat increase from 50 to 100 this year. It has achieved this by successfully overcoming deficiencies pointed out by the education regulator last year. The MCI has granted the college a 100 seat renewal for the coming year. The college has now to work towards winning a permanent status for these 100 seats.
Affirming the news, Dr Atul Sachdev, Director-Principal, GMCH, said one pending inspection had been conducted by the MCI recently, resulting in its nod to a 100 seats to the college.
The biggest achievement for the college would be, when the MCI in its last inspection, of the final results of undergraduate courses, yet to happen, expresses satisfaction and grants these 100 seats- a permanent status.
The education regulator has been visiting the campus regularly. The number of seats, which were 50 until the 2012-13 session, were risen to a 100 for the subsequent sessions, following these MCI inspections, reports the Tribune.
