Centre urged to conduct NEET in Kannada

Bangalore: The Kannada Development Authority (KDA), has decided to write to all the MPs to create a momentum to have them ask the central government to conduct the National Eligibility Test(NEET), for graduate medical courses in Kannada.


The move comes following a significant development where the Central Government announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 will be held in six vernacular languages-including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu. Earlier, the exam was conducted only in Hindi and English.The announcement was made by the Minister of State (Health and Family Welfare), Anupriya Patel in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on 9th December,2016.


Speaking to the media, KDA Chairman, Prof SG Siddaramaiah said that he would communicate with all parliamentarians and ensure that the NEET exam was held in Kannada, as well.
