AP:v Osmania student commits suicide

Hyderabad:B Shravani, a 27 year old PG medical student of Osmania Medical College, is alleged to have committed suicide by injecting herself with a mix of an anesthetic and saline water.


She is said to have been suffering from a depression, as her parents had refused to marry her to the boy she loved. Hailing from Miryalaguda of Nalgonda district, Telangana, Shravani was pursuing a post graduation at Osmania.


According to the police she was living with her friend in a private accommodation.On Wednesday, when her mother was unable to establish contact with her on the phone, she alerted Ooha her friend and roommate, who was out at that time. Ooha rushed back to the room and found Shravani lying on the bed with the saline injected in her vein.


The girl was immediately rushed to Osmania Hospital where she was declared ‘brought dead.’


The police have registered a case of suspicious death at the Afzulganj police station. The body has been sent for post mortem and further investigations into the act of alleged suicide are on.
