Talking to TOI, CB Singh, the Aligarh DM revealed that a meeting had been called by him the same day, as the strike had now begun to affect the medical services in the region. He admitted having told the protesting doctors that action would be taken against them if required.
The meeting between the doctors and the authorities including the district administration, police and the university proctor did not yield any result,s on Saturday, as the medicos remained adamant on having the student union leader removed from the college and insisted that their protest would continue till Monday 12 noon, as their demand for removal of the union leader had not been fulfilled.
According to the RDA, President, Abdullah Azmi, "the workplace environment has become unsafe as doctors are routinely threatened and abused. It seems we have no dignity here". He further demanded the student leader's suspension
