AMU announces admission through NEET; cancels results of MBBS/BDS exam held on April 10

AMU (Aligarh Muslim University) has officially cancelled the MBBS / BDS Entrance Test conducted on April 10 for the session 2016-17, inviting applications for medical admissions through NEET (later). It had earlier conducted the MBBS/BDS exam on April 10. Now, the result of this medical entrance test has been officially called off. The university has announced that will be conducting admission through NEET in 2016.


Only recently, UPCPMT was also cancelled, with the state of Uttar Pradesh deciding to go for medical admission through NEET.


AMU has issued a notification undersigned by Prof. Javaid Akhter, Controller of Examinations, at the university. The information was also uploaded on the official web page as on June 4.


The notification reads, “In view of the order passed by the Hon’ Supreme Court of India, the Ordinance promulgated by the Hon’ President of India, the legal advice from the University Council and as authorized by the Academic Council, the result of the MBBS / BDS Entrance Test conducted on 10.04.2016 for the session 2016-17 stands cancelled.”


For admissions in MBBS/BDS courses offered at AMU, candidates will now need to register on the website-www.amucontrollerexams.com. The process for registration will start from June 23 and will close on July 13. Specifically, the link for registration will be available on the website from June 23.


Candidates can now register for NEET II to be held on July 24. Medical aspirants for AMU will need to apply again on the website after the NEET results have been announced. The NEET results are expected to be declared on August 16 and candidates aspiring for medical admissions in AMU will have to apply online once more, within 10 days after the NEET results are declared.


AMU had earlier organised its entrance test for 140 MBBS seats offered in Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and 34 BDS seats in Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College.
