Allegations against Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences Director to be investigated

Karnataka: A 3 member committee to probe allegations against BC Ravi Kumar, Director Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), has been constituted by the Department of Medical Education. The Director has been accused of having furnished false work experience certificates for getting promoted at the Institute.


The complaint filed by H.R. Ramesh Kumar, a resident of the state with the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission, alleges that the Director had furnished false records, demanding a probe into the matter.


The commission in turn had issued a directive to the Medical Education Department to conduct a probe. Based on this request, the Medical Education Department on July 15 formed a committee of three members to look into the allegations and file a report within a month.


The members of the committee are – the Director and Dean of Bowring and Lady Curzon Medical College and Research Centre in Bengaluru, the Chief Administrative Officer of the Medical Education Department in Bengaluru and the Chief Administrative Officer of Bengaluru Medical College reports the Hindu.
