Vandanam: Two senior Alappuzha Medical College students were issued suspension orders by the college authorities when a junior tried to take his life by cutting his vein on being abused for not complying with ragging orders issued to him.

According to Punnapra police sources, the seniors are believed to have asked him to do a moonwalk, which he refused to submit to. His denial to obey led the seniors to shower verbal abuse on him. This, in turn, resulted in the junior indulging in the act of cutting his vein. The concerned student is a native of Thiruvananthapuram.

Some of his colleagues on seeing him hurt, rushed him to the hospital, from where he was given a discharge, on Tuesday, reports Deccan Chronicle.
