AIIMS New Delhi to offer online course to help aspirants clear medical entrance exams

New Delhi: A virtual training syllabus for aspiring medical students across the country has been developed by the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS). This training syllabus is meant to help aspirants clear their medical entrances.


India Today reports that the apex medical institution is working in coordination with 431 medical colleges to provide this facility to aspirants. Around 3.5 lakh students appear for AIIMS exam every year, however, a mere 72 get through, while others join various medical colleges in the country.


This scenario is likely to change with the introduction of this virtual training program, as aspirants will be able to prepare themselves better with an access to use the website of the virtual medical training with an access to it user ID and password.


Joining hands with AIIMS, professors from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Manipal Medical College, Ram Manohar Lohia, and other renowned medical institutions together developed this virtual medicine syllabus.


(Prof) Dr Manoj Singh, Pathology unit revealed, “We are still working on it. Next month, we are going to conduct a major conference on virtual teaching syllabus. As of now, virtual medical training is being done as a pilot project in Northeast.”


The two medical institutes where these virtual medical courses are being run are the North Eastern Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Science, Shillong and at the Regional Institute of Medical Science, in Manipur. The module of the syllabus is similar to that at AIIMS reports India Today.
