AIIMS New Delhi team bags 3rd spot at Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz in Malaysia

New Delhi: Doing the country proud, a team of medicos from AIIMS New Delhi, bagged the third spot in an annual Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz (IMSPQ) annually held by the University of Malaya, Malaysia. The competition which saw participation from more than 100 teams also saw the First and second positions being secured by Thailand and China respectively.


IMSPQ is an international physiology quiz competition conducted every year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where medical students from across the world participate. While AIIMS has been participating in the competition for almost a decade now, this is the first time, it has bagged a position


The competition which was held on August 15 and 16 more than 100 teams from over 24 countries competing. Teams from Australia, Singapore and Russia as well participated in the competition.


The team from India comprised of first year MBBS students (now in the second year) Aman Tilak, Sankeerth Sadananda, Vanshika Arora, Aditi Rao and Nipun Chandra. "The competition consists of questions related to physiology. In the first year at AIIMS, we have this subject, so only first-year students can participate in the quiz," Aman Tilak told The Pioneer.


"AIIMS has been participating in the competition since 2009 but it is the first time that it has been able to secure a position hence proving its mettle" a senior official from AIIMS informed the daily.
