A Tirupati based businessman duped of Rs 20L for MD dematology seat

A Tirupati based businessman has been cheated of Rs 20 lakh for the promise of a dermatology seat for his daughter in a medical college of Mangaluru. The accused in this case has been arrested.


The victim Damodar Rao’s daughter, a NEET qualifier had failed to get a Postgraduate seat in Dermatology.


Feeling depressed Damodar shared his problem with Srinivas Rao, a family friend, who introduced him to Vijay Ram who promised to help with a seat at Yenepoya Medical College under the management quota. He took Rs 20 lakh last September reveal the police.


Ram also promised a fee concession through the college management. However, destiny had other plans for the girl. Damodar her father realized that he had been taken in when his daughter’s name did not appear in the merit list of the college. His attempts to get in touch with Ram proved futile.As the transaction took place in central Bengaluru, the FIR was registered at the Ashok Nagar police station reports Deccan Herald.
