300 more PG seats up for 2nd Counselling round in Maha, Check out Details

Mumbai: The nine private medical colleges who were absent from the first round of post graduate counselling for not having submitted their details to the Directorate of Medical Education and Research(DMER), are now in the foray, for the second round ,with their details with the Directorate. The DME will now carry out their admissions procedures in the second round of Counselling.


Meanwhile, the fee structure released by some of the colleges to the DMER runs as follows:

A Health Ministry circular issued on Friday marked the second All India Counselling to be held between May 11 and 20. It also mentioned May 27 as the last date for joining colleges and May 31 as the last date for admission.


For left over seats after the second round, a third mop up round of combined counselling is to be conducted, to ensure that all seats are filled up by May 31, added the circular.


The first post graduate round of counselling in Maharashtra saw 2,400 seats filled up of the total 2,800. The government and corporate total of 1,400 seats were taken up first, followed by the deemed universities with a slot of 800 and another 100 of the private medical colleges, that were available with the state government, during the first counselling round.


The issue of fee still remains clouded in professional colleges with the FRA stating it has fixed one fee for all, while the institutes speak of three tuition categories, reports the TOI.
