Power Grid Corporation gifts IGGMC an ambulance

Puducherry: The Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Research Institute has been gifted a Rs. 7.62 lac worth ambulance by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited , as part of the company’s social initiative programme.


The aim behind the donation being to improve the health and emergency care services of the college hospital, especially for the poorest of the poor. The insurance and registration costs of the ambulance are being looked after by the Corporation for the first year.


The Corporation however, will not be responsible for any wear and tear of the vehicle, replacement of consumables or accident, said Deputy General Manager S. Raja Shekhar.


The hospital on the other hand, will operate and maintain the ambulance without bearing any financial or legal responsibility to the Corporation. It will also pay for the driver’s salary and maintenance of the vehicle.
