2 Private medical college alerts to DME officials went unheeded: Report
Bhopal: The PMT 2012 Vyapam Scam charge sheet of the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) making revelations about the case stated that despite repeated cautioning by 2 Private medical colleges to the Directorate of Medical Education to refrain from extending admission dates for colleges as it would mean violating Supreme Court order, the body refused to give a listening ear.The private colleges had heeded the directorate that laxity in this regard would lead to a proliferation of "illegal admissions."
According to the charge sheet the warnings of RD Gardi Medical College, Ujjain, and SAIMS Medical College, Indore, went unheeded. "Investigation revealed that when the DME sent a letter on 14.9.2012 to medical colleges, informing about the schedule for the second round of counselling from 18.9.2012 to 25.9.2012, a letter was sent to the PS DME, by RD Gardi Medical College, Ujjain. They stated that they expressed the fear that late schedule will lead to bogus admissions by some private colleges on 30.9.2012," reads the charge sheet.
Further, the Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee Officials had informed S C Tiwari and N M Srivastava of DME about acts of irregularities committed by some private medical institutions, and that attempts at illegal admissions may be made towards the last days of admission.
