1st year student of dental surgery found hanging in Teerthanker Mahaveer University

A first year student of dental surgery allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan inside her hostel room in Teerthanker Mahaveer University in Moradabad, police said.


The body of Diksha Agarwal, who hailed from Dalkhola in West Bengal, was found hanging from a bedsheet in her room at 9:30am on SAturday when the police broke into her room after being informed by college authorities, they said.


Inspector Tejinder Singh Yadav said a suicide note has been recovered although it is illegible.


A forensic team has been deputed to examine the note and the body has been sent for post-mortem. The cause will be ascertained after the reports come, SSP Nitin Tiwari said.


Police said the family of the girl has also been informed.


A first year MBBS student from Faridabad, Neeraj Bhadana, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the university campus on 6 July, 2013. A CBI inquiry was ordered in the case and the inquiry is still continuing.
