14 PG seats increased in MGM Medical College by MCI

Indore: The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGMMC) has been granted 14 Postgraduate seats by the Medical Council of India(MCI), of the 23 it had applied for. It is hopeful of more after the Council conducts a fresh inspection. The increase of seats to the college has been granted in Medicine, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, and Dermatology.


Dr Sharad Thora, MGMMC Dean confirming departmental seat allocation said “Apex regulator had given us permission to increase 14 PG seats — nine seats in Medicine, two seats in Orthopaedics, two in Psychiatry and one in Skin.”


“We have got the in-principle nod from MCI and notification for the same would be issued by the government for all medical colleges soon. A team of MCI also inspected the facilities in skin department for the same on Tuesday. Inspection of other departments is pending and it will be conducted by the officials in coming days,” Dr Thora told the Free Press Journal.
