Workshop on public health by UNICEF at MANUU
Hyderabad: The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), in collaboration with the UNICEF, is organising a two-day Critical Appraisal Skills (CAS) training programme on Public Health here, on August 30 and 31.
In a statement here on Tuesday, Prof Ehtesham Ahmed Khan, HoD and Dean School of MCJ, said the aim of the workshop is to encourage a meaningful discourse around the crucial subject of Routine Immunization.
It is an attempt to bridge gaps in health reportage through an innovative capacity building intervention with media, including mid-level journalists, editors, government officials and journalism institutes, he added. UNICEF is launching the CAS for Public Health Reporting across the country and during the two-day programme at MANUU.
Academics and Media persons will be provided with training. Eminent media personalities and experts from all over India has been invited as the resource persons for CAS training Programme. UNICEF has offered MANUU a course on Health Journalism for the students of Mass Communication and Journalism.
