    West Bengal gets 67 more MD, MS Seat in 2017-18

    West Bengal gets 67 more MD, MS Seat in 2017-18
    As per the Central Government notification issued on 28th February, 2017, the centre has approved 25 MD/MS seats in West Bengal medical colleges. These seats have been increased following decision of the Union health ministry to allow one professor to have three PG students against two at present and Associate professor, two students instead of one at present.

    Besides this, a number of PG seats have been added with the January Notification of the Ministry of health and Family welfare that permitted many medical colleges to start PG courses in many specialties in the state or increase the number of seats. This makes the total number of increase in PG seats for 2017-18 as 67

    The Centre has approved over 4,000 Post Graduate seats in medical colleges and hospitals across the country for the academic session 2017-18, Union Health Minister J P Nadda has said.
