West Bengal: Employee thrashes National Institute of Homeopathy Director
Kolkata:The Director of National Institute of Homeopathy,(NIH) Professor S K Nanda was brutally attacked by a mason cum sweeper Samir Amin with a bamboo stick at Salt Lake recently. The attack was pre planned by Amin who in a bid to take revenge from Nanda for allegedly not paying up for work done by him for the professor ,and attacked him at the institute in the course of his daily rounds.
The condition of the professor admitted at Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital is said to be critical as he has lost a lot of blood due to head injuries. The attacker has been arrested.
Eyewitnesses say that Amin beat up the professor brutally, The staff and doctors of the institute came to Nanda’s rescue and took him to Bidhannagar Sub-Divisional Hospital. The doctors at the hospital advised shifting Nanda to Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital. The National Institute of Homeopathy authorities lodged a complaint with Bidhannagar (South) police station.
A team of investigators reached the institution immediately for investigations. They discovered that Amin, had had previously worked at the institute for some repair work. It is believed that the accused had a personal angst with the director and the sudden attack on Nanda was an act of revenge.
As the attack was pre planned Nanda fell prey to the attack unexpectedly reports millenium post.
