Visakhapatnam Institute of Medical Sciences OPD to be operational in April
Visakhapatnam Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) is to be made operational with outpatients services from April 11. This news has been confirmed by the Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas in his official statement.
"We missed many deadlines but this deadline will not be missed," he asserted, while speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday.
The minister further implied that VIMS will be launched with a purpose to serve as a university-cum- super specialty hospital under the ambit of NTR Health University, Vijayawada. In addition, the NTR Health University is currently limited to an examination conducting board but soon VIMS and a research centre would come into the fold of the varsity.
VIMS has been currently put under the ambit of the NTR Health University as there are healthy finances with NTR. In addition, the minister also implied that there is still scope of development under the services at the government hospitals. Regarding the issue of new born child lifters, the minister comments that radio frequency identification bracelets would be tied to the infants at all the government hospitals.
