Vacant All India quota seats will be converted into state quota: UPDGME issues notice
Lucknow: Narrating the policy of the Medical Council of India (MCI) on vacant PG medical All India quota seats, the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training Uttar Pradesh (UPDGME) has issued an official notice regarding the conversion of the same.
On April 5, 2018, the MCI had issued a gazette notification in which it stated that in the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000, (PGMER 2000) in appendix the following note shall be added below the Admission schedule from the academic year 2018-19 onwards for Postgraduate Courses (broad Speciality):-
"All India Quota seats remaining vacant after the last date of joining i.e. May 10, will be deemed to be converted into state quota."
Now, in view of the said order, the UPDGME has issued an official notice mentioning the above clause. Adding to that, the notice states that after accounting for All India surrendered seats in the state quota seats, the fresh state merit list for the 2nd Round counselling will be determined.
