Uttar Pradesh : MGKVP to hold AYUSH entrance Exam, on Sept 4

Benaras : The Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth (MGKVP) is going to hold the Entrance examination for AYUSH (Ayurvedic, Unani, and homeopathy) 2016. It is the first time in the history of the college that Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth (MGKVP) will be conducting an Entrance exam for the AYUSH courses.

The AYUSH (Ayurvedic, Unani and homeopathy) entrance exam for state colleges will be held on September 4, 2016 to be conducted by Kashi Vidyapeeth.

On Tuesday, the committee chaired by Chancellor Dr. P. Naag members was informed about the same. reports a local daily

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith is a public university located in Varanasi or Benaras, Uttar Pradesh, India. Established in 1921 as Kashi Vidyapith and later renamed, it is administered under the state legislature of the government of Uttar Pradesh. The university has more than 400+ affiliated colleges spread over six districts. It is one of the largest State Universities in Uttar Pradesh, with hundreds of thousands of students, both rural and urban. It offers a range of professional and academic courses in arts, science, commerce, law, computing and management, reports

The Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth MGKVP has been recognized as the University of Historical Importance. Hence, the university administration has been entrusted the task of conducting the first medical entrance test for admission to ayurvedic and homeopathy courses.

It is for the first time that AYUSH entrance exam will be conducted separately because till last year it was being conducted under CPMT. It is not less than an examination, for the members of the conducting body because every time Kashi Vidyapeeth acts merely as a Nodal centre for the medical entrance examination but this time, Kashi Vidyapeeth is itself the conducting body.

The AYUSH entrance exam would be held for 700 seats in bachelors’ course in homeopathy (300), Ayurvedic (320) and Unani (80) streams and that pattern of exams will be similar to CPMT.

Medical education principal secretary Anup Pandey told that admission details and website would also be launched shortly.
