Agra: The Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College AMU, Emergency services were affected on Monday, when a 600 strong RDA went on strike to protest against the alleged roughing up of a medico, by an AMU student on Sunday night .
Though there was no 'official announcement' made regarding the resident doctors boycotting work, the medicos did not show up on duty after the incident.
Speaking to the TOI, Dr Amar Javed, Secretary, Resident Doctors Association, revealed that members of the AMU students union, who visited the ortho OPD on Sunday night, allegedly misbehaved and manhandled doctors on duty.
"We have demanded security from the administration. Further course of action will be decided after meeting with them," he told TOI.
However, President, AMUSU, Faizul Hasan, alleged that doctors had misbehaved with the students.
The Aligarh Muslim University administration has set up a three-member high power committee to investigate the incident on the Medical College premises.
AMU Media Consultant, Jasim Mohammad said the CCTV footage related to the incident will also be looked into. A report will be submitted on Tuesday evening, and action taken, thereafter.
