Upgradation of Medical Colleges under PMSSY: Minister apprises parliament

Through a recent written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State (Health and Family Welfare), Sh Ashwini Kumar Choubey informed about the upgradation of Colleges under PMSSY

13 Government Medical Colleges have been approved by Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on 03.08.2016 for the upgradation under Phase-IV of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). The list is given below:

The cost approved for each GMC is Rs. 200 crore with Central share constituting Rs. 120 crore and State share constituting of Rs. 80 crore. The ratio of the fund to be shared between State and Union Government is 60:40.

Government Medical College, Surat and Government Medical College, Bhavnagar have been included under Phase-IV of PMSSY.
