MUHS issues corrigendum for PhD Entrance Test 2020 application
Mumbai: The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik (MUHS) has issued a corrigendum regarding the online application process for the PhD Entrance Test 2019-20.
The test will be conducted for admission in the concerned subject of research under the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurved & Unani, Homeopathy, Allied Health Sciences (Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) and Interdisciplinary / Interpathy subjects.
In the recently released corrigendum, the varsity has notified all the concerned applicants who are applying for Ph.D. Entrance Test that, the candidates awaiting their final year post-graduation result can also apply for this PET Examination. However, they will be treated as eligible for the allotment of seats to Ph.D. admission only after submission of final year passed out result before the commencement of Ph.D. seat allotment programme.
It is likely to be started in the month of April / May 2020. Please note that, if the candidate is failed in his final year post-graduation examination, his performance in Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) 2019-20 will not be considered for Ph.D. admission for this academic year.
Candidates are required to apply only ONLINE through the University's website mentioned below with prescribed fee (online payment) on or before 31/01/2020.

INTRODUCTION: -
The Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) for admission to Doctor of Philosophy under the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurved & Unani, Homoeopathy, Allied Health Sciences (Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) and Interdisciplinary / Interpathy subjects for academic year 2019-20 will be conducted by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.
Eligibility: -
A candidate, who fulfils the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for the Entrance Test, namely: -
I. He is a citizen of India;
II. He has studied and passed in the course(s) leading to the award of PG degree in respective branches recognized by respective councils and Government of India and affiliated to any University established by Law; and
III. The candidate willing to register for Ph.D. program as Ph.D. Scholar, shall fulfil the eligibility conditions as mentioned in Clause No.12 and 13 of University Direction No. 01/2020 (Refer Annexure 'VI").
Instructions for Filling Online Application Form: -
I. Candidate should have a valid E-mail Id and correct Mobile number.
II. Before filling Online Application Form candidate must possess the required criteria and educational qualification as mentioned in the Direction No. 01/2020.
III. Online Application Form must be filled in 06 steps. i.e. Edit Application (Step-1), Add Qualification Details (Step-2), Add Experience Details (Step-3), Add Course Preference (Step-04), Paid Application Fee Online (Step-5) and Submit and Print Application Form (Step-6).
IV. Candidate shall submit only one application form, if candidate submits more than one application then, the previous application will be rejected and latest application submitted by the candidate shall be considered.
V. Eligible Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program must submit their application to the University through online mode only by visiting the University website (https://www.muhs.ac.in) on or before 31st January 2020 at 23:59 Hrs. (midnight).
VI. For any modification in the online application, candidate have to submit One Time Password (OTP) after entering mobile number. The candidate can modify his application before online submission.
VII. Once the applicant has submitted his or her application form online by pressing "SUBMIT" button, then there will not be any scope to change the online data.

IX. Candidate must submit the hard copy of the printed online application form with self-attested all necessary documents as prescribed by the University on or before 10/02/2020 by post or in person at the following address-

X. The application must be highlighted as "APPLICATION FOR Ph.D. ENTRANCE TEST (PET)-2019-20" (UDC Section) on the top side of envelope. Incomplete applications, in any respect, shall be rejected and no complaint or queries shall be entertained in this regard, therefore, it is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the application for the PET is complete in all respect and is supported by necessary attachments.
XI. The admission of the Candidates for Ph.D. Degree shall be on the basis of Merit of Entrance test conducted by the University.
XII. The in-service Candidates applying for full-time / part-time Ph.D. programs shall have to submit "No Objection Certificate" from their employer in the prescribed format as the case may be.
XIII. Reservation policy will be followed for admission as per the existing rules of the Maharashtra Government. The Physically Disabled candidates may claim reservation by producing valid certificate to that effect issued by the competent authority. There will be 5% seats (subject-wise) reserved for persons with disabilities.
Registration Fee:
Mode of Payment: - All the Candidates need to pay Entrance Test Registration fee (Non-refundable) of Rs. 5000/- for Open Category and Rs. 3500/- for reserved Category by payment Gateway mode only.
Examination Centre: -
The University will conduct PET Examination at Nashik only.
Issuance of Admit Cards:
Admit Cards for PET-2019-20 appearing candidates will be made available on the University website 15 days before the examination date and will not be sent to individual by post. For downloading the Admit Card, candidate is required to login into University website using the Username and password provided at the time submission of application. It shall be the responsibility of the candidate to download the Admit Card. Candidates have to come with this printout of the Admit Card at the time of the Entrance Test. Candidates without Admit Cards will not be allowed to enter the Examination hall. Details of date of examination, time and venue shall be informed on Admit Card provided for Entrance Test (PET 2019-20).
Identity Verification: -
In the examination hall, the Admit Card along with original of the candidate's photo identity (bearing reasonably the same name as it appears on the Admit Card) such as PAN Card / Indian Passport / Driving License / Voter's Card / Bank Passbook with Photograph/ Photo identity proof issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead along with photograph / Photo identity proof issued by a People's Representative on official letterhead along with photograph /recent Identity Card issued by a recognized School / College/ Aadhaar Card/EAadhaar Card print with a photograph/ Photo Identity Card (of Central Govt. /PSU or State Govt. /PSU only) should be shown to the invigilator for verification. The candidate's identity will be verified with respect to his/her details on the Admit Card, in the Attendance List and requisite documents submitted. If identity of the candidate is in doubt the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the Examination.
Pattern and Syllabus for the Entrance Test (PET-2019-20): - Pattern of Examination
Paper I 100 Marks | General Aptitude (25 MCQ each of 02 marks) & Research Methodology (25 MCQ each of 02 marks) Total 50 MCQ of 02 marks each.(This paper is compulsory and common for all the Candidates) |
Paper II (100 marks) | Subject Knowledge Test (50 MCQ each of 2 marks) (subject applied by the candidate) |
I. Entrance Test shall be conducted in offline mode only.
II. The Entrance Test will consist of two question papers each of 60 minutes of duration.
III. The Syllabus of Paper- II shall be based on Post Graduate Specialization in Health Science of concerned subject applied by the candidate.
IV. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
VI. All questions are compulsory.
VII. Re-valuation and Photocopy facility for PET is not available and request for the same will not be accepted.
VIII. There will be no grace marks for Entrance Test. Language of the entrance examination shall be English only.
Exemption from PET Examination: -
The candidates who has qualified AYUSH NET Examination in a relevant subject will be exempted from Entrance Examination. However, the candidate who is exempted from Online Entrance Exam is also instructed to fill the Online application form and submit it with all required documents to the University.
Preparation of Merit List: -
Merit list shall be prepared of those candidates appearing for Entrance Test (PET 2019-20). The said merit list shall be used for the process of provisional admission. The Entrance test shall be qualifying test with 50% qualifying marks for Open category candidates and 45% qualifying marks for Reserved Category candidates in both the papers. The Open category candidates and Reserved Category candidates need to score minimum 50% and 45% marks respectively in both papers in combined (i.e. Paper-I and II) to qualify for preparation of merit list.
Tie-Breaker
In case of equal marks in Entrance Test the following procedure shall be adopted for deciding the merit.
First level: -
The candidate with more aggregate marks (converted into percentage up to 2 decimal points) at post-graduation.
Second Level: -
The candidate with more aggregate marks (converted into percentage up to 2 decimal points) at graduation.
Third Level: -
If the tie still persists then an older candidate will be preferred over the younger candidate.
