    Unfortunate: PG Medicine Student of Jorhat Medical College dies after car collides with truck

    The unfortunate incident took place on November 9 2019, around 2:30 am when the PG medico was travelling to back home along with one of his companions in his Maruti Zen car (Registration no AS-04-C-1850) NH-37 at Charing. Suddenly, a truck speeding from the opposite direction collided directly with the medico's car causing grave injuries to him and his friend.

    Gaurisagar: In a tragic incident, a PG medical student of Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) died in a road accident after his car hit a truck which was coming from the opposite direction on the National Highway 37.


    The PG medical student was identified as Dr Pratyush Kujan Kaushik, a native of Malou Ali in Jorhat. He was pursuing PG in General Medicine in JMCH.

    The unfortunate incident took place on November 9 2019, around 2:30 am when the PG medico was travelling to back home along with one of his companions in his Maruti Zen car (Registration no AS-04-C-1850) NH-37 at Charing. Suddenly, a truck speeding from the opposite direction collided directly with the medico's car causing grave injuries to him and his friend.

    The duo was rushed by the Guaurisagar police to Sivasagar civil hospital. However, the PG medico was declared dead while the deceased's companion was shifted to Dibrugarh Medical College and Hospital for further treatment. The deceased's body was handed over to the medico's family after postmortem.

    As per a recent report in
    North East Now
    , locals claimed that the accident took place due to thick fog.

    Medical Dialogues had earlier reported about one such unfortunate road accident in which the medical fraternity lost three MBBS students, after the car, they were travelling in, collided with a truck loaded with iron rods which pierced through them. Meanwhile, another MBBS student, who was driving the car, sustained major injuries.

    All the students were pursuing MBBS from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Bengaluru.
