Unfortunate: Final Year MBBS student dies in bike accident in Madurai
He was riding a bike and while he was negotiating a curve, he skidded and fell leading the rear tyre of the passing-by truck run over his head, killing him on the spot.
Madurai: In an unfortunate incident, a final year MBBS student has died in a road accident, after he fell on the road with his bike and the passing-by truck's rear tyre ran over his head. The student reportedly died on the spot.
The deceased MBBS student has been identified as one S Selladurai, 23 a native of Kadathur in Dharmapuri district. His father Subburaj runs a beeda shop at his native place. The student was pursuing his final year medicine in Sivaganga Medical College and was staying in Sivaganga.
According to a recent report by The Times Of India, the unfortunate incident occurred on 12th September, when the student was on his way to Madurai for shopping. He was riding a bike and while he was negotiating a curve, he skidded and fell leading the rear tyre of the passing-by truck run over his head, killing him on the spot.
The bystanders alerted the police, following which a police team from Karuppayurani station rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Government Rajaji Hospital.
The police informed the MBBS student's father about the accident and a case has been filed against the truck driver, adds the daily.
Recently, the Medical Dialogues had reported about one such unfortunate road accident in which the medical fraternity lost three MBBS students, after the car, they were travelling in, collided with a truck loaded with iron rods which pierced through them. Meanwhile, another MBBS student, who was driving the car, sustained major injuries.
All the students were pursuing MBBS from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Bengaluru.
