Treatment of blood cancer is possible in Safai medical university now
Etawah: Patients of blood cancer in Etwah and nearby districts will have facilities of treatment of their ailment in Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences in Saifai.
University vice-chancellor Dr T Prabhakar here on Friday told UNI that patients of blood cancers had to run Lucknow or Delhi for treatment but now our university has started separate branch for treatment of such patients.
Blood transfusion medicine and blood bank in-charge Dr Abhay Singh said one patient admitted here in medical university was suffering from essential thrombocythemia and for further treatment he has to go to Lucknow frequently.
Now he can be treated here with latest equipment and facilities.
Blood is made up of different cell types including red blood cells for carrying oxygen, platelets to help blood clot and white blood cells that fight infections.
