    Tragic: 4 MBBS students of Sharda University die after Road Accident, 1 critical

    Noida: In an unfortunate incident, a group of five MBBS students met with an accident after which four died on the spot and one is critically injured. The medicos were reportedly travelling in a car which rammed into a truck.


    According to media reports, five MBBS students of 3rd year from the Sharda University of Greater Noida were returning from their self-planned trip from Himachal Pradesh. The vehicle was on a very high speed when it rammed into a stationary truck in Chandinagar area on Eastern Peripheral expressway in a district of Uttar Pradesh.


    Soon after the incident, a police team reached the spot and all five of them were sent to a nearby hospital via "UP 100" car where the doctors declared four of them dead on arrival. One injured was sent to the hospital in Delhi.


    Informing about the incident, Station House Officer (SHO), Chandinagar police station said, " The car overturned, skidded and rammed the rear of the truck. The car was badly damaged. Our response vehicle was nearby and rushed to the spot, but four students died on the spot. The fifth student, a woman who sustained severe injuries, was admitted to a hospital in Delhi."

    Circle officer of Baghpat's Khekra city told the TOI, "The accident took place at around 9 am. It seems that the medico, who was behind the wheel, dozed off and rammed the truck. The car was travelling at a high speed due to which the vehicle turned turtle."


    "The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and their parents have been informed. No case has been filed yet," the police added.


    The authorities of Sharda University extended their sincere condolences to the family.


    The joint Registrar and Public Relations officer at Sharda University told the HT, that the college authorities were uninformed about the trip in question.
