Thiruvanathapuram: Tuition fee for 4 medical colleges in the state has been fixed for the coming two academic years by the Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC). The 4 medical colleges whose fee has been fixed include Mount Zion Medical College (Adoor), SUT Academy of Medical Sciences (Vattapara, Thiruvananthapuram), PK Das Institute of Medical Sciences (Vaniyamkulam), and Travancore Medical College (Kollam).
The AFRC has given a 15% fee hike for the academic year 2018-19. Moreover, Justice Rajendrababu, in his order, stated that the tuition fees already collected from the students over and above that fixed should be refunded or adjusted for the future years, reports TNIE.
Following fee has been fixed for the four medical colleges
- Tuition fee for SUT Academy of Medical Sciences for the academic year 2018-19 has been fixed at Rs 4.60 lakh, 2018-19’s sum has been fixed at Rs 5.32 lakh.
- The fees fixed for Mount Zion Medical College is Rs 4.81 lakh for the 2017-18 academic year and Rs 5.55 lakh for 2018-19.
- The fees at Travancore Medical College for 2017-18 has been fixed at Rs 4.85 lakh and Rs 5.56 lakh for 2018-19.
- At P K Das Institute, the fees have been fixed at Rs 5.22 lakh for the academic year 2017-18 and Rs 6.04 lakh for 2018-19.
