Telangana, Andhra: 8 new medical colleges this year
With the Supreme court declining the petition of Vyapam whistleblower Anand Rai, 8 new medical colleges will be given a chance to admission. These include 3 medical colleges in Telangana and 5 medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
The Supreme Court rejected a PIL seeking the quashing of three orders by the Justice Lodha-headed Oversight Committee for allegedly arrogating to itself the powers of the central government while granting approval to 25 new medical colleges.

With this, these medical colleges will be allowed to take students. President of AP Medical Colleges Association G Bhaskar Rao told Deccan Chronicle that these colleges will fill up the convenor quota seats in the second phase counseling of EAMCET for 2016-17. The seats coming under B-Category will be filled based on the NEET ranks, he said.

- Mahaveer Institute of Medical Sciences at Vikarabad,
- Maheshwara Medical College at Patancheru and
- RVM Institute of Medical Sciences in Medak.
