Tanda Medical college: CREST begins workshop for MBBS students
Kangra: The Centre for Research and Education for Social Transformation (CREST) has started an eight-day workshop for graduate medical students began at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College at Tanda on Wednesday.
The focus of the workshop is on imparting knowledge and skills to first-year MBBS students of the medical college to face educational, cultural and socio-economic challenges.
Bhanu Awasthi, Principal of Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, told UNI that medical students when entering the medical profession feel stressed not only mentally and physically but also emotionally too, therefore, such workshops at the beginning of the life in a medical college prove highly beneficial.
He said that 100 medical students studying in the first year in the college are participating in the workshop.
The workshop is carried out by the faculty from the CREST, an autonomous institution started by the Government of Kerala and includes faculty from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK), one of the reputed management institutions of the country, with the support of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Development Department of Kerala.
