    Tamil Nadu to now offer MCh in Gynaecological Oncology

    The feeder qualifications for MCh Gynaecological Oncology are MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Therefore, candidates who hold the said qualifications can apply for the course while registering for NEET SS this year.

    Tamil Nadu: Candidates, who intend to pursue Post Doctoral Fellowship Programme of MCh Gynaecological Oncology for 2019-2020 Session from Tamil Nadu based medical colleges can now apply for the said course in NEET SS 2019.




    The confirmation to this effect comes via a recent notice uploaded on the official website of Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Department (TN Health) which clearly mentions that the Government has permitted to start two years Post Doctoral Fellowship Programme in Gynaec Oncology at the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Government Hospital for Women and Children, Egmore, Chennai-8 vide G.O (Ms.) No.68 Health and Family Welfare (MCA-2) Department, Dated 14.03.2017.


    Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Medical Council of India (MCI) had amended the feeder qualifications of 2 DM (Doctor of Medicine) and 4 MCh courses (Master of Chirurgie) in India. This MCh Gynaecological Oncology was one of these courses.






    The feeder qualifications for MCh Gynaecological Oncology are MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Therefore, candidates who hold the said qualifications can apply for the course while registering for NEET SS this year.



    The TN Health notice states the following:
    The Eligibility criteria for the course will be MD (O&G) / MS (O&G) or DNB(O &G) from any recognized University with Registration/State Medical Council.

    The admission to the above said course will be based on the marks obtained in NEET SS 2019 for the speciality M.Ch(Gynaec-Oncology) conducted by National Board of Examination.

    Hence, the candidates who are willing to apply for the above course are hereby instructed to appear for NEET SS 2019 for the Speciality MCh(Gynaec-Oncology)

    The candidates are instructed to check the websites frequently for updates from the date of submission of application till the end of the admission process. The Selection Committee will not be responsible for the consequences resulting due to non-diligent follow-up of notices, notification and publications appearing on the official websites regarding the admissions.

    National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination for Super Speciality courses, NEET SS is the gateway to DM and MCh courses in the country.

    The Online submission of application form for NEET SS 2019 has begun from 8th May 2019 from 3:00 PM onwards. Online applications can be accessed and completed till 11:55 PM on 28th May 2019.
