Tamil Nadu: KAP Viswanatham Medical College sanctioned 21 faculty positions

Tiruchi: KAP Viswanatham Medical College in Tiruchi has been sanctioned 21 new faculty posts by the state government. Of the 21 sanctioned posts, 13 are faculty vacancies designated for Assistant professors and 8 for professors.

Hindu reports that with the new recruitments Neurology, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Cardiology, and Cardio-Thoracic Surgery are to be nominated 2 posts each.

Faculty Posts have been sanctioned for Departments of Trauma, Neuro Surgery, Geriatric Medicine and Nephrology are among the departments said Anitha, Dean, K.A.P. Viswanatham Medical College.

According to her, the Directorate of Medical Education had taken adequate steps to ensure that suitably qualified people were taken on for the positions.

Counselling will be held in Chennai to fill up the vacant posts. The Dean felt that the above-sanctioned posts would go along way in helping patients in Tiruchi and neighboring areas reports Hindu.
