SVIMS ties up with IISER for research activities
Tirupati: Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the prestigious IISER for Research Works.
SVIMS Director TS Ravikumar in his address after entering into an MoU with IISER along with its Director Professor Ganesh at Padmavathi auditorium in SVIMS on Sunday said that it was a historic day in the history of the Institution.

He said its Viral Research and Diagnostics Laboratory (VRDL) has been updated from college level to state level by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Mr Ravikumar said Research is the engine that will drive us in the direction of creating new knowledge and innovate better and informed that their aim to create a University without Borders -Université Sans Frontières with the launch of this first annual research program here.
He also said they will set up a platform to create new knowledge, accelerate the progress and generate new opportunities by involving research scholars and experts from different fields of scientific research for sharing their knowledge.

Dr AD Bagga, Department of Health Research from ICMR, who attended, announced that the Viral Research and Diagnostics Laboratory (VRDL) in SVIMS, sponsored by ICMR earlier, has been upgraded from college level to state level which now can cater to the needs of people at a larger scale apart from more outcomes can be generated.
IISER Director Ganesh proclaimed that they will give complete support to SVIMS students and faculty in their Research in the medical field.
Senior Professor from the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad Guru Prasad and other staff of the institution have participated.
