Students warned against mass bunk: Dean, MGMMC

Indore: The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College administration has warned its students against mass bunking carried out by them on festivals. Cautioning them about short attendance, the authorities have warned them of not being allowed to sit for the exams.

Dr.Sharad Thora, Dean MGMMC, gave a directive to students during his round of class rooms, to restrain from mass bunks on festivals, as stern action would be taken against them.

“We have directed the students not to resort to mass bunk off as it affects their schedule and course completion. Mass skiving also affects their attendance due to which they won’t be allowed to write exams as per UGC norms,” Dr Thora said.

He revealed that student leaves were ranging between 20 days and 2 months, disturbing the academic time table of the college as well.

“ We will not restrict them from taking government holidays and general leaves but will not allow mass bunk offs,” he told the Free Press Journal. Students did raise their voices against the order saying that they did want to be home for festivals. However, none of them wanted to go on record on it, fearing action by college authorities.
