Setting up of 18 medical colleges in Haryana set in motion, 2000 MBBS seats to be added: CM

The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, Has Said That The Process For Setting Up 18 Medical Colleges Has Already Been Set In Motion And Four Such Colleges Will Soon Be Established In The State

ChandigarhThe Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has said that the process for setting up 18 medical colleges has already been set in motion and four such colleges will soon be established in the state. These medical colleges will produce 2,000 doctors every year.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a new-bus stand in Karnal today, he said that Kalpana Chawla Medical College had been established in Karnal. The present government plans to open one medical college in every district to meet the shortage of doctors.

Doctors will soon be recruited in the Kalpana Chawla Medical College, he added.

Deteriorated conditions of the medical colleges should be improved first…….the yardstick for the quality care should be set first .What about the service conditions and financial aspect (core issues for the doctors) .Good step to eliminate the deficiency of doctors….but the other aspects should also be taken care .

    Good initiative. But only quality education need be imparted. Not necessary to have one Medical College in each district (mostly very small districts are there in Haryana), rather open limited colleges with well qualified and dedicated faculty and world class facilities. Every medical college will also require a big hospital as well so that practical training can be given. Let the Govt do It seriously and should not prove a political announcement. Like many Engineering Colleges, the medical colleges should not face shortage of students in future or the problem of closure. Let it be a well thought decision of BJP Govt.
