Send your applications to Ministry of Health, not us: MCI tells Medical Colleges
It is that time of the year, when the government invites applications for Establishment of New Medical Colleges and from the existing medical colleges for increase of admission capacity in MBBS course for the next academic session.
MCI, through a public notice has announced that applications are invited for the academic year 2018-19 and can be submitted to the secretary to the Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Last Date of application is 7th July, 2017. The notice reads
MCI also pointed out that such applications have to submitted to the Ministry of Health directly and not to be sent to the office of MCI

As per the Establishment of Medical College Regulation, 1999 published in Part III Section 4 of the Gazette of India on 28th August, 1999, and as amended vide notification published on 14/01/2016, all applications for Establishment of New Medical Colleges and for increase of admission capacity in MBBS course for the academic session 2018-2019 shall be submitted to the Secretary to the Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Deptt. of Health) Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi – 110 011 between 15th June to 7th July (both days inclusive) of any year.
MCI also pointed out that such applications have to submitted to the Ministry of Health directly and not to be sent to the office of MCI
As such, the intended colleges may submit their applications directly to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, upto 7th July, 2017. The applications are not to be sent to the office of Medical Council of India DIRECTLY.
