Reverse Violence: Six MBBS students suspended for thrashing Shopkeeper
One of the suspended students has however informed that it was shopkeeper who had abused and mercilessly beaten them.
The medicos associated with state-run Ram Manohar Lohia Medical College & Hospital, Lucknow (RML Lucknow) had allegedly plundered a general store nearby, thrashed the shopkeeper and looted stock from his shop.
According to media reports, an MBBS medico went to the shop in the locality. The medico opened a bottle of deodorant for testing before confirming to buy the same. When the shopkeeper objected to it, a heated argument developed between them.

After the quarrel, the young doctor informed his colleague from the hospital about the incident, who later came and brutally thrashed the shop owner and his staff. The medicos allegedly ransacked the shop and looted stuff kept in the shop.
After the alleged incident, a case was registered in the local police. The shopkeepers in the city, after the alleged incident of attack by medicos, had shut down their shops in protest and demanded action against them.
A police official informed that an investigation was on. He stated, ''We are trying to identify the students with the help of the CCTV footage....we will take stern action against those responsible,' reports the daily.
The Hospital authorities condemned the reaction given by the medicos to the situation and explained that such incidents should not be endorsed.
A Hospital official told the Deccan Herald, ''We can not do something (assaulting others) against which we are protesting."

The institution had formed a three-member internal committee to probe the allegations. The preliminary inquiry report mentioned that the six students who were from the batches 2017 and 2018 were involved.
On the basis of the preliminary inquiry report, the institution has asked the Dr Ishwar Ram Ghayal of urology department to carry out a thorough investigation and submit a detailed report within 15 days, reports the HT.
However, denying all allegations against them, one of the medicos stated to HT that it was the shopkeeper who abused one of the students for opening the sealed bottle of the deodorants. "The fact is that shopkeeper pulled down the shutter and locked the students and his staff mercilessly beat up medical students. We will also lodge FIR against the shopkeeper," he said.
Presently, the medicos were suspended by the institution until any further order in connection with the matter comes.
