    Rajasthan: No bond obligation for 6 PG courses, 2 SS courses

    Jaipur: Through a recent notification, the State Medical Department has issued an order cancelling the mandatory bond service for medical students opting for 6 non-clinical branches in NEET PG counselling and also for candidates selecting cardiothoracic surgery and paediatric surgery in the SS courses for the coming academic year.

    The notice mentions about the various Post Graduate (PG) Courses and Super Speciality Courses for the Academic Session 2019-2020 that has been waived off from the requirement of Bond Service. The details of the courses read;

    Post Graduate Course-

    • Anatomy

    • Biochemistry

    • Pharmacology

    • Preventive and Social Medicine (P.S.M)

    • Physiology

    • Forensic Medicine

    Super Speciality Course-

    • Cardiothoracic (C.T) Surgery

    • Pediatric Surgery

    The move comes in light of the fact that the number of seats for the non-clinical branches go vacant owing to lack of interest of medical students in these branches. The move is a measure to make candidates to opt for these non-clinical branches.

    The Bond Service has made it compulsory for the PG students to sign an undertaking wherein they are supposed to render service in a government set-up for at least five years post completion of their course.

    It is obligatory for the students to sign a bond of Rs Five lakh, assuring that they would not leave the course without completing it. Besides, another bond of Rs 25 lakh is compulsory for PG students, assuring the government that they would work for a bare minimum of five years in government hospitals.

    “The students so selected (for the academic session 2019-20) in the medical fraternity will have to fill a bond amounting to Rs25 lakh for a degree course and Rs five lakh for a diploma course, for commitment to serve the state government for a period of five years. The bond requirement for Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Preventive and Social Medicine (PSM), Physiology, Forensic Medicine has been waived off,”says , NEET PG medical and dental admission/counselling board-2019 quotes TOI.
