Patiala: Dental student takes life by hanging from a ceiling fan

Punjab: Amanpreet Kaur, a 23 year old resident of Moga and an intern of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Government Dental Medical College, Patiala(GDMC), hung herself from a fan at a rented accommodation.

According to information revealed by Investigation officer (IO), Gurpinder Singh who was living in Rose Avenue colony for the time being was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan in her room by the landlord, who immediately informed the police and her parents as well.

IO Mr. Singh said the girl’s father Balwindwer Singh’s statement , has led the police to initiate investigation and also register a case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure(CrPC). The body of the intern has been handed over to family after post mortem

“Her father told the police that she took the extreme step due to depression,” the investigating officer told HT.

He also revealed the fact that the girl had recently got engaged to a BDS student, doing a post graduation in the same course at the same college.
