Puducherry cheating its MBBS aspirants: AIADMK leader Anbazhagan
Puducherry: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party leader A Anbazhagan on Friday accused Puducherry administration of 'cheating' medical aspirants in the Union territory.

Mr Anbazhagan, in a statement, said that before the introduction of NEET, the Puducherry government instead of obtaining 550 seats as government quota for MBBS, compromised with 280 seats and gave away 270 seats.

"The main reason for this is the ‘bribe’ given by the private medical college management every year", he said.
After NEET, the deemed universities refused to given even a single seat to the government and the union government has directed other private medical colleges to provide 50 percent seat as government quota in U G and PG medical course which is being implemented in several states, he charged adding that Tamilnadu is getting 85 percent seats.

In Puducherry, the government which should obtain 225 seats as its quota from the total 450 seats in three colleges is getting only 170 seats (38 percent) in UG while the government is getting 50 percent in PG seats. This action of the government enables the private medical college Management to sell 55 seats for Rs 40 crores, the statement read.
