Promise of MBBS seat at Dehradun Medical College: Doctor duped of Rs 2 lakh
JAMMU: On the basis of the complaint registered by Jammu based doctor, a case has been registered against the two fraudsters who allegedly duped her of Rs 2 lakh under the promise of arranging an MBBS seat for her daughter in Dehradun based medical college.
According to recent media reports, the lady doctor, who is presently posted as medical officer MLA hostel Jammu alleged that the conmen induced and assured her of an MBBS seat in Dehradun, Uttarakhand via a website.
When she was contacted by them, they asked to transfer advance of Rs 2 lakh to their account and deposit the remaining amount after allotment of the MBBS seat to her daughter. Thereafter, she paid the money.
Later, realising that she had been duped, the doctor approached the police alleging fraud. Subsequently, the matter reached the crime branch which initiated a primary investigation.
In their investigation, they found that the accused had various bank accounts and mobile SIM cards for cheating that lady doctor and other people as well, reports Greater Kashmir.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the police had nabbed a wanted fraudster, who had siphoned off Rs 69 lakh from a medical college professor under the pretext of providing MBBS admission for his daughter.
The arrested man along with 3 of his alliances were operating an interstate medical seat scam from 4 to 5 years and are “wanted” in Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities.

Earlier, a doctor, who wanted to get his son admitted in a reputed Karnataka based medical college to pursue MBBS, had been cheated of Rs 5.50 lakh allegedly by consultancy firm run three fraudsters. He came across an ad published in a Marathi newspaper which read ‘Associates Consultant’ situated in Powai which guaranteed MBBS admission.
