PM Modi lays foundation stone of ESIC Medical College; Inaugurates Super Specialty block of KIMS
Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the Super Specialty block of Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Hubballi. He also laid the foundation of ESIC hospital and medical college.
During his recent visit to the state, PM Modi unveiled several development projects across energy, health and education sectors in Karnataka's northern Kalaburagi district, as per ANI.
He laid the foundation stone for ESIC Hospital and Medical College in Bengaluru and inaugurated a super Specialty wing at Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubballi. He dedicated both the medical facilities to the nation, reports PTI.

In a bid to reach out to the people of North-East region of the state, Modi also said that the extensive development of the region was his government's top priority.
"It is my privilege that the NDA government has got the opportunity to work extensively for the northeast. We have put top priority for the development of the North East. This includes ensuring proper infrastructure, power connectivity, harvesting water resources, better health care and education," he stated at the public rally.
The Prime Minister also interacted with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana: Ayushman Bharat.
Two weeks ago, the Prime Minister had inaugurated three medical colleges in Jharkhand. Each of these medical colleges is targeting to have 100 MBBS seats and start its teaching from the coming academic year. These medical institutes are located in Dumka, Palamau and Hazaribagh. The foundation stone of these colleges was laid by PM in the year 2017. The new Medical colleges are built at a cost of Rs 885 crore. Of these, the central government has given Rs 317 crore.

Earlier, PM Modi inaugurated an ESIC Medical College and 510-bedded hospital in Faridabad.
