    PG Medical Admission in Puducherry: CENTAC Publishes Special Counselling schedule in view of Lowered Cut offs

    Puducherry: Through a recent notification, the Centralised Admission Committee Puducherry (CENTAC) has informed that it is going to conduct Special Counselling for PG medical candidates in view of Lowering of Cut off marks for NEET PG 2019.




    Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the qualifying criteria have been no taken to 44 percentile for general category candidates, 39 percentile for Persons with Disabilities category and 34 percentile for SC/ST/OBC category candidates. Marks so lowered by the Central Government are applicable for the academic year 2019-20 only.



    With this the revised cut-off score for the general candidates has been reduced to 313, for SC/ST/OBC candidates, it has been reduced to 270 whereas, for Persons with Disability, the revised score has been reduced to 291.

    The notice uploaded on the official website of CENTAC states the following:

    Special Counselling in view of Lowering of Cut off marks:


    Special Counselling will be done physically i.e. in person for Govt. Quota seats alone on 13.05.2019 (Monday) at 10.00am. Newly registered candidates in view of lowering of cut off marks can also participate in the Special Counselling.


    Reservation:


    In the first session, Reservation will be allowed for Govt. Quota seats. Thereafter unfilled Reserved seats will be converted into unreserved seats and offered as per Merit.

    Seat Matrix:


    Updated seat matrix is published in the website https://centacpuducherry.inl and Students are advised to go through the seat matrix.


    Fees:


    During Special counselling, seats will be allotted only after the entire tuition fee is paid, preferably by way of DD (Demand Draft) or through RTGSA{EFT, otherwise, the seat will not be allotted. For this purpose, candidates can either transfer the fee in advance to CENTAC account mentioned in the website or bring DD for fee amount in favour of CENTAC.


    In the case of NEFT/RTGS transfer amount credited will be refunded if the seat is not allotted. For the fee amount, students are advised to see the fee order on the website.


    Forfeiture of fees in case of Non-joining:


    If the student fails to join the allotted college after Mop-up counselling, then an amount of Rs.2,00,000/- will be forfeited. In case, the College is not able to fill the seat from the 1:10 lists sponsored by CENTAC, then entire tuition fee will be forfeited. Where the college is able to fill the seat, the fee paid after deducting Rs.2,00,000/- will be refunded after 6 months time.


    Management Quota seats:


    For Management Quota seats, there will be no Special Counselling. The 1: l0 list will be furnished to colleges for necessary action.
