Medical PG Seats after PG Diploma Conversion: MCI BoG issues corrigendum
New Delhi: The Board of Governors at Medical Council of India (MCI BoG) has recently issued a corrigendum on the earlier notification regarding the conversion of Post-Graduate (PG) Diploma to PG Degree seats.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that as a policy move abolishing the PG diploma courses , MCI had converted over 2120 PG diploma seats to MD/MS degree at various medical colleges. With the change, MCI also announced the total number of degree courses finally at the medical colleges After this notification was issued on February 28, the colleges noted that there was a difference in the number of seats actually in certain course and what the MCI had noted in its public notice . Following this, they submitted their representations to the apex medical body pointing out to the mistake.

Consequently, the members Board of Governors, who are Incharge for Postgraduate matters, considered the representations received from various institutes for correction in Conversion of postgraduate Diploma to Degree seats together with the recommendations of the PG Expert Group and decided to issue a corrigendum as under:

All the above decisions of the Incharge for Postgraduate matters members Board of Governors were approved by the Chairman, Board of Governors. The decision so made shall be placed before the full Board of Governors for the purpose of ratification, the corrigendum stated
